Over on Facebook, I was challenged to post the covers of seven of my favorite books from years past. Well, I’m sure by now you know I’m a bit of an over-achiever, plus, really, I don’t know how anyone could expect me to be able to limit my favorite books to a certain number, so I rebelled and chose ten. Here is a collage of what I posted over the past ten days.
Coming soon: My favorite books (so far) of 2018.
So many great books! I loved Shadow of the Wind when I read it some years ago and Unmentionable has been on my list for a long time. I hadn’t heard of the bicycle travel book, that sounds intriguing! Think I’m going to check it out. I’ve heard such rave reviews of Stiff but I’m just not sure about the subject matter. I just read Mary Roach’s Spook and I like her writing style but I’m not so sure I can get into her topics.
Great to see so many interesting books among your favorites!

Thanks for joining my blog!
Yes, STIFF is a bit much sometimes but Roach is so good at making the topic funny and entertaining. You might try PACKING FOR MARS, which is my favorite of her books; just lots of good stuff about our bodies during travel in space. I was surprised how much I liked GRUNT, as I shy away from anything to do with war. Have to admit SPOOK was my least favorite, and while part of BONK were good, it had a few places that dragged.

I’d heard Spook was most people’s least favorite of hers but it was the only topic I had at least a little interest in. I’m almost aversely uninterested in the topics of all the others, strangely enough. Thanks for the recommendations though, I think if anything I’d try Stiff at some point. Appreciated your thoughts on it!
